To recap: violence against women? Yeah, we’re fine with that. Anger at the political establishment? Not so much.
on the subject of that “The Problem(s) with Fan Fiction” article. Because I was unable to respond to it without swearing, it’s behind a “read more”; if that bothers you than please don’t click. This is a point-by-point breakdown and I will assume you’ve read the original article.
Also, before we get started, I would like to add to my Rules of the Internet for When I Am Overlady: any article on a cultural phenomenon which includes any variant of the phrases “I’m sure there are good [whatever], but I’ve never read/seen any” or “I’m sure there are women who [whatever], but I’ve never met any” is to be killed on the edit desk. A revision once good whatevers or women who whatever have been found and interviewed, and their viewpoints incorporated into the piece, may, however, be permitted.
